I was casually scrolling through TikTok when a video popped up and caught my attention. It didn’t feature this stunning painting, but another — just as beautiful — by the same artist.I eagerly tapped on the artist’s profile picture and scrolled — almost romantically — through their uploaded videos. Each piece was more captivating than the last. Before I knew it, I had watched them all and felt compelled to purchase my very own (and original) Akasha Mead artwork. One tap led me to their Instagram, and from there, to their personal site.Now, let me assure you: I am a 40-year-old man with NO understanding of art and NO experience navigating the art world. I’d never even considered buying a painting before. So I was pleasantly surprised to discover how easy it was to purchase a piece of this calibre. The website was beautifully designed and incredibly accessible, even for a complete novice like me.I’d also like to share a more personal note. I contacted Akasha before the purchase to express how excited I was to receive the painting — but also how anxious I felt. I was about to undergo an important surgery and, truthfully, I worried I might not get the chance to hold the artwork in my hands.Thankfully, I had nothing to fear — not only did I make it through my hospital stay, but as you can see from the photo, the painting (titled Odyssey) arrived in time for me to admire it in person.So to Akasha Mead: thank you. You are an extraordinary young artist, and I truly hope you receive every bit of recognition and success that you deserve.
